Most RI deck quotes come down to three decking choices. The frame underneath is usually pressure-treated lumber either way.

Is Trex the only composite option?

No. Trex is the best-known brand, but builders also install TimberTech/AZEK, Fiberon and others. Ask each builder which lines they install, which collection they're quoting, and what the warranty requires.

Good fits in RI

  • Seasonal and coastal homes: lower upkeep is the main reason people choose composite or PVC.
  • Budget-first projects: pressure-treated wood is still the value choice, especially for low decks.
  • Resurfacing: composite boards on an existing frame only make sense if the frame is sound and spaced correctly for the new boards.
